So today is Bastille Day which marks the moment when French citizens had enough and stormed the horrors that were the State Prison Bastille. The prison, razed long ago, is long gone. There is a monument though where it once stood and here is a picture of it that I took on my trip. For my French friends… ENJOY THE HOLIDAY!

Bastille Day was celebrated in my home town of Augusta, Maine by Canadian decedents which included my family on my mother’s side. It was a fun day filled with step dancing exhibitions and a parade followed by feasting and dancing at the local french Calumet Club in
Augusta.
